How to spend a week in Crete Island in Greece

Heraclea – ancient city in Macedonia

Heraclea Lyncestis is an ancient Greek city located on the outskirts of the Macedonian city of Bitola. Heraclea was named after the mythological hero Hercules. The city was founded by Philip of Macedon after joining the Lynkestis to his kingdom. Later, this city began to grow actively due to its location on the famous Via Egnatia connecting the Adriatic and the Bosphorus. The city was abandoned after the slavization of Macedonia in the 6th century AD. (more…)
